Through Childhood

At age 5, David was already an entertainer. He learned the whole "Elvis: Live At Madison Square Garden" album word for word. He would stand on the keyboard stool and pretend to be Elvis Presley in concert.

When It Started

When It Started

David got his first Fender Stratocaster at age 10. And that's where it all started taking shape. He actually learned to play by watching his cousins Danny Davis and Mike Greene. He began playing hard rock and heavy metal in his bedroom. In 1988, at age 16, he started his first band called Bad Influence.

Through The Years

Through The Years

The 1990's were transition years. David played guitar in a few rock bands such as, Tantrum, and his own band, Bad Influence. The transition came when he joined The Powell Brothers Band and got back to the country music he grew up on. In 1994, he, along with steel guitar player, Milton Carroll, formed Eastern North Carolina's hottest country band, 8 Second Ride.

SIXGUN

SIXGUN

In 2003, David decided it was time for him to start following a dream. This is when SIXGUN was formed. For 11 years, SIXGUN was one of the most popular bands in eastern North Carolina. But there was still something missing.

On January 21, 2014, off of a suggestion from long time friend, Karen Cayton, David Wilson Jones Jr became David Lee Jones to the music world. The idea was created the Saturday night before in downtown Nashville, TN. Fellow artist, Taryn Papa, planted the seed that night. Today, David is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist who has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in country music, such as Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Jones, & Keith Urban, just to name a few.
